Litchfield Run

My run this past Sunday morning. I need to start kicking myself into gear for the upcoming Nike Half Marathon on July 27th! 7.42 miles was not too bad. I could run more...next weekend!...9 miles? I think I can handle it:)

I made it! I still can't really comprehend it or believe that I ran through all 5 burrows of NYC in one day. In 4 hours and 25 minutes! Insanity. It really is actually. I'm still very sore and can't walk too well but I am so happy I did it and it's over! Immediately after the run, I met up with my friends and we headed to Patsy's on 34th and 3rd for some pizza and beer! It was perfect. The toe was hurting but I was ignoring that at the moment and enjoying wearing my hard earned medal around my neck and soaking in all the people around me who came to watch and of course the beer that helped numb the pain I would soon realize I was in! So without further ado, here are the photos I took before, during and after the big run!

Spandex is hot

Yes, it is! And it is getting cold....so spandex I turn to. You are my new best friend. The one that reveals every beauty and every flaw of my poor, abused, and tired body. Spandex, you will help me. You will get me through 26.2 miles. My dear spandex, you're just too hot for me.

Bar recovery

So the guest bartending was a great success. A few TFKers showed up along with a bunch of friends, so thanks guys!! Now for the fun stuff.... the pics!! Enjoy:)

Wow, what a night, I learned how to pour beer...ok, well not really... I messed most of them up. Yes, there IS an art in pouring beer. As Dave the "real" bartender says, "every beer is unique, they each drink like they pour."

Bob brought green cupcakes for the early birds...which worked out well in flirting tactics for the Heinekin Girls! Old room mates showed up, old coworkers, and of course, old friends...and yes, made new friends! :)

And last but not least, the quote of the night, "this cigarette was better than any orgasim I would have had to fake tonight!" -anonymous!

Grete's Gallop 1/2 Marathon

So another 1/2 marathon done. This one was a part of the Norweigan Festival in Central Park this last weekend. It was raining pretty much the whole time and 10 minutes before I finished the course, it was POURING! It's crazy to think that those are the "short" runs now. However, I'm a little sad since my foot has been giving me a lot of pain and my time dropped by 5 minutes in this 1/2 compared with the Nike 1/2 a few weeks back. Shouldn't it be getting better?! Well, I guess the foot injury has an impact on that. Plus, weather, the course, etc. So yeah, I'm over it. The point of this marathn is not to break any world records, it's to challenge myself and have a good experience in the process.
